Morning Sickness

So I would like to know who decided to call 1st trimester sickness "Morning" Sickness. Did a bunch of women get together and vote? Majority won and Morning Sickness was voted in as the title. I wake up in the morning feeling great. I have an appetite and I don't feel queasy in the slightest. I have never thrown up and I savor every moment. It is between noon and 4 that I start to feel sick and usually by dinner I can't eat or even think about food and one to three nights a weeks I put something down the hatch that ends up coming right back up. Evening Sickness that is what I have. It works out well for work since I work 7:30 to 3:30 I usually feel great during work. It makes dinner engagements difficult. Today, our neighbors graciously moved a dinner BBQ to noon so we could avoid any unpleasantness.

We have officially reached our 11th week so hopefully so we will be in the clear on the sickness stuff soon. Mike's Mom requested pictures of myself once a month so she could see the progress. I have barley started to show. Most of the belly is fat. I never thought I would take pictures featuring my stomach, usually the part of me I try to hide behind unsuspecting children, chairs and other convenient objects but for the enjoyment of family and friends here goes.

The Secret of the Gummy Bear and the Kidney Bean

Can you keep a secret? I can if it's someone else's and you specifically ask me not to tell. If it is my own secret, well I don't have secrets. I just simply can't keep them and apparently this is an inherited trait. You might be wondering right about now what secret I could have that would have to do with Gummy Bears and Kidney Beans, well you know what I'll tell you. My secret is the size of a kidney bean and the appearance of a gummy bear and it is about 9 weeks old. Points for you if you guessed it. The James' are having a baby! November 16th is the due date which is also our wedding anniversary but mommies intuition says it won't come until the 19th or the 20th.

At our last Doctor's visit we got to see the heart beat on the ultra sound. Man, that sucker moves, 158 beats per minute. Even though we really couldn't make much of a baby out of the pictures, the doctor said he/she probably looked like a gummy bear and was the size of a kidney bean. He/She is probably bigger now as that was a whole week and a half ago, but he/she is affectionately referred to as Gummy Baby around here and until it joins us in the world eating gummy bears is out of the question.

Spring...

If Spring had a fan club I would be a member. I can't get enough of the sunshine, flowers and blue skies that tell us summer is on it's way. Spring stands for hope, new life and fresh starts. It never ceases to remind me of how wonderful life can be.

That said. I wish someone would give me an Easter basket. Filled to overflowing with the green plastic grass that gets everywhere, with pretty pastel colored plastic eggs filled with chocolates and sweets that would make my dentist scream and a big fluffy white bunny. Why? I just do. So Mommy if you are reading this I want an Easter basket...please.

Mike was my hero and bought me an Easter Basket today! He is so sweet.

My Little Friends...

You know the other day someone made a comment about how after they had kids all their kidless friends disappeared. I couldn't stop thinking about that comment. I guess being the only one of almost all my friends to not have kids I thought this was absurd. I value my friends and could never see myself just walking away from the friendship simply because they had added a little blessing to their life. I also realized that I didn't see each addition to my friends families as a nuisance but as a blessing because every time one of you adds another bundle of joy to your family I add another friend to my list. I value my friendships with my Little Friends as much as I do my grown up friends. I learn just as much from them, sometimes more, than from my grown up friends. So here is a tribute to my little friends.

To Ethan who I will always have a special bond with, who has taught me that time and distance know no bounds and who loves me just the same. Thanks little man!

And to Grayson I didn't have a picture that did you justice. Thank you for always being so darn cute and funny!

To Spencer and Natalie who taught me that twins doesn't equal double the trouble but double the love, joy and fun!

To Eli who melts my heart every time he says "I love you, LaLa."

Addison who showed me that at 4:00am just holding a warm little bundle of joy will make all the lack of sleep in the world worth it.

Peyton - It isn't fair that you wink better than me.

My newest little friend Elizabeth! Who seems to be always pleasant and always game for an adventure.

I hope none of your Mommies and Daddies mind that I put your pictures here. Can't wait to hang out with you soon.
